Water shortage in Marathwada: On one hand, the excitement of Lok Sabha elections is going on in the state, while on the other hand, there is fear of water crisis in the state. There is water shortage in many villages of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Hingoli, Parbhani, Dharashiv and Nanded.

- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar The city is supplied with water from the Jaikwadi Dam. But, only 23 percent water storage is left in the dam. Therefore, Sambhajinagar city gets 1 hour of water in 7 to 8 days. Besides, water is supplied to 230 villages of the district through 348 tankers.
- bead Due to rising temperatures in the district, 26 projects have dried up. Now 8.39 percent i.e. 64.383 million cubic meters of water reserve is left in all the projects. Water is being supplied from 21 tankers to 24 villages of the district. In such a situation, the beedars get water supply only for 2 hours in 15 days.

- Burn The district is also facing the threat of water shortage, 47 villages and 55 wadas of the district are facing severe water shortage. About 250 wells have been acquired in the district and the thirst of the villages is quenched through 450 tankers. The Ghanewadi reservoir, which supplies water to Jalna city, has completely dried up. In such a situation, the thirst of the city is dependent on Jaikwadi Dam. In Jalna cities, water is being supplied in some areas on the fifth day and in some areas on the eighth day. Water is being supplied through 235 tankers in Jalna.
- Parbhani In the coming times, the citizens of the district may have to face water crisis. At present there is 40 percent water left in Yeldari and 8.5 percent water left in Lower Doodhna. At present, water is being supplied to Parbhani city every 4 to 5 days.
- Nanded The water storage of Vishnupuri Dam, which supplies water to the city, is 39 percent. Wells have been acquired in Nanded district.
- Latur There is only 9 percent usable water reserve in the 144 water projects of the district. Water supply has been started from 20 tankers in 18 villages and one wadi of the district. Besides, 110 wells have been acquired and water supply has been started in 98 villages.
